Saskie fingering yarn is a single-ply, woollen-spun yarn made from 100% traceable and sustainable canadian sheep wool. It feels soft on the skin and is made without harsh chemicals, superwash treatments or bleach. It comes in five earthy tones, is perfect for colourwork knitting and is a woolly yarn for true sheep wool lovers.
Woollen-spun yarns are lofty, airy, and lightweight as they are made from fibers of varying lengths that trap air and create a soft, woolly texture. If you're new to woollen-spun yarn, you may find it more delicate than worsted-spun yarns and prone to breaking if pulled too tightly. However, this construction is what gives woollen-spun yarn its exceptional warmth, lightness, and ability to bloom beautifully after blocking and is especially great for colourwork projects.
