desert hands-spun yarn
desert hands-spun yarn
The yarn is hand-spun by indigenous bedouin women who have lost their jobs as a result of the decline of tourism due to war. It has been traditionally processed and is made from 100% desert sheep wool.
The fibres are a mix of shorter and longer hair, and has a nice halo to it. It also has naturally existing lanolin from the sheep, which adds to its charm.
For full transparency, this yarn might not be suitable for hand knitting due the debris present in the yarn. It might be useful for weaving, rug making, stuffing for duvets, insulation for clothing or basket making. I would recommend washing it with lukewarm water and giving it a gentle clean before using it.
There are a wide range of natural colours - white, beige, tan, brown, dark grey, dark brown. Colours will be chosen at random. There is a message box where you can leave your preferred colour choice and we will do our best to match your preference.
Due to the deficiencies, the yarn is being sold at cost at zero profit. All sales are final.
