SASKIE knits

This book is a very personal and special project for me. I wrote this during one of the hardest times. A year ago, I lost my soul bun, Saskatchewan. I struggled and lost my spark for designing. I read that writing helps with grief and so I tried putting my thoughts into paper. I decided to explore a completely different knitting construction than I’m used it, while still incorporating my passion - colourwork and bunnies. And so, I wrote saskie knits. I hope that anyone going through the same loss knows they’re not alone.

HELP & fAQs

  • Saskie knits includes patterns for adventurous beginners to intermediate knitters. There are smaller accessory projects for knitters who want to explore colourwork and larger projects like garments for experienced knitters. Because the patterns are modular, it is suitable for advanced beginners who want to learn or practice colourwork skills.

  • Knitting, purling, catching long floats, colourwork knitting, knitting in the round, knitting flat, casting on, binding off, picking up stitches, seaming, blocking.

  • Saskie knits encourages knitters to stash dive. As the patterns are modular, they are very friendly for stash busting. Samples knitted for the book were done using stash yarn from multiple yarn brands.
